That was peaceful, 20 years ago I held my German shepherd Khyber when we had to say good bye on a vets table - he was my best friend growing up and was with me everyday. At age 10 over a couple of weeks his stomach swelled up and he went off his food - we brought him to the vets and it was terminal aggressive stomach cancer, I looked into his eyes and spoke to him as the vet gave the injection - it was so fast the light in his eyes vanished in a second. Me and my sister both cried like little children ... I was 20 years old. His pain was over instantaneous, I don't know why we don't provide the same respect to ourselves when all that is left is pain.

Randall, that was a great drive and your A is pretty sharp! Beautiful country there, too. One thing I'm curious about though- why do you say the gas valve won't turn? Your Zenith carb and the linkage looks to be set up correctly. If you turn it to the left, it will open the needle valve and allow more fuel flow. But you shouldn't need that on startup. All you should have to do is set the ignition lever one notch down and the hand throttle lever about halfway down, then briefly pull the choke as you crank the starter. The engine should start first or second attempt and run at a high idle until warm, then you can back off the hand throttle and pull the ignition lever all the way down for driving. Its part of life but the treasured memories is priceless gift. I had my first dog when i was very young. From the moment it was a puppy until it got so old. It lost its teeth, its eyesight, it recognized remembers me by smell and voice. Love is a magic mix of happiness and sadness. When my dog's time was up because of old age he was vomitting blood and drop in front of me. But i know every last seconds matters because when i talk to him and says his name. His tail still wiggles to his last breath. Mercy killing on pet is not practice in my country and vet is not available in small towns. It was sad and beautiful at the same time. From that day on, im always a dog person

For me, I do not agree euthanaisa practice. The fact is they may want to live even suffer. Why we judge and choose euthanaisa especially on own pet. Likewise, human who suffer pain, want to continue to live. Pain relief should be fine rather than euthanaisa.

Today on May 9th, my family dog of 9 years was put to sleep, she was rescued from a puppy farm and we adopted her. Her name was Bella aswell, She was a King charles cavalier, but what is weird and sad at the same time we adopted her on may 9th 9 years ago.

I have had to euthanize a few cats before because of old age, and it never gets easier. Just 10 months ago, we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old cat, Shiloh. She was an awesome, beautiful cat, and we'll never forget her😢.

The worst day of my life was having my dog euthanized while holding her. Years later, I still can barely talk about it. I probably will never get another dog. I have a parrot now. Such an awful feeling.
